Tough Weekend in Daytona

This last past weekend, the Monster Energy Supercross circuit stopped in Daytona Florida for the 9th round of the championship chase. This track always draws a lot of attention due to its large track design by Ricky Carmichael that is built on the infield grass. This one of a kind event is always one to remember but this last past weekend’s race was one to mark in the books. After some tight racing and harsh track conditions, the risk of making a mistake were growing larger. Towards the end of the night we witnessed two of the largest crashes of the year as riders fought for every position. James Stewart and Davi Millsaps crashed out of the night’s race and would not come back. They have recently released statements about their injuries and if they would return for next weekend’s round in Toronto. James Stewarts race team reported that after the crash in Daytona James suffered from severe bruising of his lower back and chose to no race the rest of the evening. He would report to be okay to race by next week. Davi Millsaps on the other hand would not be as lucky. His race team has reported that Davi has suffered broken rips and a partially collapsed lung when he crashed on the last lap of the Daytona race. They have also addressed that his return for the rest of the season is questionable.
